Nonlinear Mode Theory, especially development of methods for experimental nonlinear modal analysis<br /> 2. Dynamics of Structures with Contact: Development of prediction methods; analysis of complicated nonlinear phenomena<br /> 3. Nonlinear Technologies for vibration mitigation, especially impact absorbers<br /> <br /> We enjoy the synergetic relation between fundamental research (funded e.g. by the German Research Foundation) and application-oriented research in close collaboration with our industry partners (including MTU Aero Engines). Our work is divided approximately in half between theoretical and predominantly experimental work.
